How It Works

A simple four-step process.

Mold that comes back is a mold job that only treated the surface. GeoBrix finds the water, fixes the water, and rebuilds.

01

Assessment & Air Testing

We inspect visible mold, check for hidden growth behind walls, and can arrange third-party air quality testing if needed for insurance or health documentation.

02

Containment & Removal

Affected areas are contained with plastic and negative air pressure. Moldy drywall, insulation, and framing are safely removed and disposed of.

03

Source Fix

Whatever caused the moisture — plumbing leak, grading, ventilation, waterproofing — gets fixed before we rebuild. Otherwise the mold comes back.

04

Rebuild & Clearance

Drywall, insulation, paint, and trim reinstalled. Post-remediation testing available for clearance documentation.

Mold Repair and Rebuild FAQ

Common questions.

Straight answers about what a GeoBrix Mold Repair and Rebuild job actually involves.

How can I tell if I have mold?
Musty smells, black/green spots on walls or ceilings, past water damage, or unexplained allergy symptoms are common signs. GeoBrix does free visual assessments and can arrange air testing.
Is mold remediation covered by insurance?
Sometimes — if the mold is caused by a covered water damage event. Long-term moisture problems usually aren't covered. GeoBrix helps document either way.
How much does mold remediation cost?
Small localized jobs run $500–$3,000. Larger jobs with rebuild (drywall, insulation) typically $3,000–$15,000. Written quote after assessment.
Do you handle black mold?
Yes. Black mold (Stachybotrys) is remediated with full containment, HEPA filtration, PPE, and antimicrobial treatment. Same crew, same contract.
How long does mold remediation take?
Small jobs (one wall, one room) are done in 2–3 days. Larger jobs with rebuild take 1–2 weeks. Dry-out and testing add to the timeline.
Will the mold come back?
Not if the moisture source is fixed. GeoBrix always identifies and repairs the water cause (leak, grading, waterproofing) as part of the job — otherwise we don't touch the mold.
